Precision Oral Surgery provides specialist oral surgery care for patients referred by dentists and other healthcare professionals, as well as patients wishing to enquire directly about treatment.

Care is provided by Tanya Lommerse, a GDC-registered Specialist in Oral Surgery, at Waterside Dentalcare in Penryn, Cornwall.

With extensive experience in both hospital and private oral surgery, Tanya provides assessment and treatment across a wide range of oral surgery conditions, with a particular focus on providing safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.

Our aim is to provide patients in Cornwall with timely access to specialist oral surgery care in a calm and supportive environment.

We understand that undergoing oral surgery can be daunting, particularly for patients who are anxious about dental treatment. We welcome anxious adults and children and aim to make their experience as comfortable and reassuring as possible.

Where appropriate, extended appointment times can be arranged for patients who are particularly anxious or who may need more time to become comfortable with the dental environment, examination and treatment itself. This allows time to discuss concerns, explain treatment at an appropriate pace and consider the options available. It also allows more time to nurture treatment in a calm, supported and unhurried environment- proceeding at a pace which suits the individual patient.

For patients who require additional support with anxiety, conscious sedation may also be available where clinically appropriate. Time is taken to discuss the diagnosis, treatment options, potential risks and benefits and any available alternatives before treatment is undertaken.

Where appropriate, modern imaging including CBCT (3D imaging using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography) can be used to assist diagnosis, risk assessment and treatment planning.

Precision Oral Surgery works closely with referring dentists and other healthcare professionals.

Following specialist assessment and treatment, patients referred by their dentist will normally return to their own dentist for their ongoing routine dental care. Referring practitioners are kept informed of relevant findings, treatment and recommendations.

Referrals
